“I Hope They Call Me on a Mission,” Friend, May 2013, 23
Think about when you meet a person for the first time. Do you shake hands? Do you smile? You can help others feel important and special when you greet them warmly. Here are some tips for greeting a person with confidence:
Say “hello” clearly enough for the person to hear you.
Look the person in the eyes and smile.
Reach out and shake his or her hand. Give a firm handshake—don’t squeeze so tight that it hurts, but don’t leave your hand floppy either.
Then say, “It’s nice to meet you,” “It’s good to see you again,” or some other polite phrase.
