Guide to the Friend

Possible Ideas for Family Home Evening

  1. Use the Bringing Primary Home lesson and activity to learn more about this month’s Primary theme (pages 40–41).

  2. Giving compliments is a good way to show love for another person. Read “Beanbag Words” (pages 20–21) and think of someone you can be kind to this week. It could be a family member, a friend, or a classmate. At your next family home evening, talk about how you felt when you gave someone a compliment.

  3. Read “Jesus Teaches How to Remember Him” (pages 14–15). Talk about how you feel each week as you take the sacrament. Write your feelings in your journal. What other ways can you remember Jesus during the week?

  4. Memorize the twelfth article of faith (page 22). Talk about how your family members can be good citizens in your community.

  5. In “The Parable of the Anthill and the Cell Phone” (page 27), Elder Sitati talks about being prepared to feel the Holy Ghost. Read his story and talk about ways you can better listen to promptings you receive.
