Who?
There are many interesting stories in the Old Testament. See if you can identify who the following stories are about without reading the verses. Then read the verses given to learn more about these interesting men.

This man and Sarah, his wife, had an only son. God asked this man to sacrifice his son on an altar. Although it was hard, he was willing, and because he was obedient, God stopped him and provided a ram for the sacrifice instead. (See Gen. 21:1–2; Gen. 22:1–14.)

Because this boy’s father gave him a coat of many colors, his brothers were jealous. They kidnapped him and sold him as a slave. He was taken to Egypt, where he explained a dream that the Pharaoh had. The Pharaoh then made him next in command over the country. (See Gen. 37:3–4, 12–14, 18–28; Gen. 41:15–40.)

The children of Israel sinned, so the Lord allowed them to become slaves of the Midianites, who worshiped Baal instead of God. The Lord told this man that he was to save the Israelites from the Midianites. He was allowed only three hundred men to fight against so many Midianites that they could not be counted. When he won, the Israelites wanted him to rule over them. But he refused, saying, “The Lord shall rule over you.” (See Judg. 6:1, 11–12, 14; Judg. 7:1–8, 12, 16–21; Judg. 8:22–23.)
