Come with Me!

I’ve had the most amazing day!

I traveled thousands of miles away.

I went to planets, to stars, the moon.

I talked to a cow and a blue-faced baboon.

I learned why the anteater has a long nose,

And why the wind howls, and how the wind blows.

I practiced my whistling and learned how to skate,

How to press flowers, and how to cut bait.

I saw lowland marshes. I saw Highland flings.

I saw butter churning and butterfly wings.

Will you come tomorrow? It’s not very hard—

I did it all with my library card.
