Froot-Toots

It’s fun to make froot-toot animals with vegetables, fruits, and colored paper. They would brighten up any party by using them for centerpieces, place cards, or as unusual gifts for your friends. Froot-toots could be made as a party activity and prizes given for the best ones. After the winners are chosen, you can even eat the fruits.

The ones shown here are easy to make. Just attach the cutouts of bright-colored paper or fabric to the fruits or vegetables by pinning them, cutting thin slots for the paper to fit into, or by using a small dab of rubber cement to fasten the paper temporarily. You might want to make some of your own design.

Choose names you like for each froot-toot, such as “Millipea,” “Bugnana,” or “Pigtato.”
