No Credit Buying

Things that are eternal must be paid for in advance. With a down payment and an extension of credit, we can gain possession of material things, but there’s no credit buying in eternity. Things of the Spirit, things that are eternal, must, positively must, be paid for in advance. This is the lesson of a graduation day. There’s no school that will confer a degree upon a freshman with an invitation that he stay around for several years and work it out. It is conferred only if, and only when, he has earned it.
