Greeting General Authorities at Church Meetings

Priesthood leaders should encourage Church members to refrain from seeking autographs of General Authorities visiting stakes and missions. This practice makes it difficult for General Authorities to greet local members and distracts from the spirit of meetings and the sacred calling of the Brethren. General Authorities are always grateful for the opportunity of shaking hands with members of the Church, and such form of greeting is in harmony with the pattern of Church meetings and worship. (The Office of the Council of the Twelve)

Melchizedek Priesthood Personal Study Guide

The First Presidency and Council of the Twelve desire that each holder of the Melchizedek Priesthood, prospective elder, and household head have and use his own copy of the Melchizedek Priesthood Personal Study Guide (stock no. PCMP6068). In addition to use in quorum meetings, this study guide should be used for a regular systematic personal study of the gospel. Melchizedek Priesthood leaders are urged to ensure that a copy of the study guide is in the home of each quorum member and family within the quorum’s responsibility. Additional copies of the 1976–77 edition may be ordered for 60¢ per copy (prepaid destination) from general Church distribution centers. (Melchizedek Priesthood Executive Committee)
