Finding Personal Direction
As your students search for guidance for their individual challenges, encourage them to turn to the scriptures and the words of modern prophets for direction. The inspired words of the scriptures contain eternal truths that transcend time. Elder Gary E. Stevenson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles promised, “As you strive to follow the teachings you find [in the Book of Mormon], your joy will expand, your understanding will increase, and the answers you seek to the many challenges mortality presents will be opened to you” (“Look to the Book, Look to the Lord,” Ensign or Liahona, Nov. 2016, 47).
Likewise, modern prophets give guidance relevant to our day. Elder Ronald A. Rasband of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles recently taught, “The leaders of this Church are no strangers to your issues, to your concerns, and to your challenges. . . . We’re praying for you, we’re talking about you in the most sacred places, and we love you” (“Standing with the Leaders of the Church,” Ensign or Liahona, May 2016, 47).
As you prepare lessons and teach your students throughout May and June, remind them that they are not alone in their challenges. As your students apply truths from the scriptures and the words of modern prophets, they will find guidance for their current circumstances.

Please invite students to share on social media how the scriptures and the words of modern prophets can direct them in their current circumstances.
