Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including children, strive to follow Christ’s example by caring for those in need. As taught in The Family: A Proclamation to the World, “parents have a sacred duty to rear their children in love and righteousness ... and to teach them to love and serve one another.” These principles inspire families and leaders to help children discover the joy of service.
Children can care for those around them in small and simple ways, such as sharing a toy, giving someone a hug, or writing a kind note. Here are some ways you can help your children to get involved in service.
