When the knowledge of the restored gospel fills the heart and soul of a person, that person is never the same. While fulfilling assignments in Africa, Elder Jeffrey R. Holland of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles said, speaking of Church members there, that it is “impressive to see how much the gospel means to them, to see what they have done with it, how they cherish it.

“That is my love for the Africans—it is their uncompromised joy in the gospel,” Elder Holland said. “When they got the gospel, they just embraced it hook, line, and sinker. And they still do. They are doing it to this day.”

One example of what Elder Holland is talking about is Mahmud Labinjo of Ashiyie, Ghana, who has fully embraced the gospel and who lives each day in happiness as a result. The accompanying video tells his story.
