In February 2010, Elder Dallin H. Oaks spoke to students and faculty at Harvard Law School as part of the school’s annual “Mormonism 101 series.” Near the beginning of his remarks, Elder Oaks said:
“We Latter-day Saints know that our doctrines and values are not widely understood by those not of our faith. . . . I have chosen three clusters of truths to present as fundamental premises of the faith of Latter-day Saints:
- 1. The nature of God . . .
- 2. The purpose of life . . .
- 3. Sources of truth.”
“As an Apostle I am called to be a witness of the doctrine, work, and authority of Christ in all the world.”
