Today is a wonderful day because we
have the opportunity to learn and hear from an Apostle of
the Lord Jesus Christ.
One of the things, the important
things we’ll do today is to allow you to offer questions to which we
might be able to respond.
We have over 20,000 members of
the Church who live in Kenya now. As the Church continues to grow,
we continue to add congregations. As we do that, we will build
meetinghouses in places to accommodate those congregations.
Since 1988 until today, we have
done so far over 550 projects and we continue to do. S so in future,
we continue to do these projects
as resources allow.
And the focus will be in education,
health and disabilities, water, sanitation and hygiene
and food security.
Today, we have nearly 180 temples
that are in operation.
And when you add to those temples
that are under construction and have been announced, I think that
comes to 335 temples worldwide. To my right, the rendition
of the Nairobi temple.
We anticipate it will be completed
within the next two years. We think of the words of the Lord
Jesus Christ when He said, “Blessed are the peacemakers.”
And so as we look at conflict, we hope that leaders of the world will be touched in a way
that they will try to find peace, and people will do all they can to
love their neighbors as themselves.
We're grateful to come to Kenya and find that we're received
warmly here,
that our members have the right
to be able to worship here.
We hope to be able to continue
to play a role in building the places where our Saints reside.
