[MUSIC - HAPPY MEDIUM, "HOME AND HEART"] [SINGING] Oh, oh, oh.
One day I realized, while I was on the road, In spite of all the things I've done, I didn't have a home. Of all the wealth accrued by earthly chariots and kings, It dawned on me that there was more, in fact, all kinds of things. Oh, oh, oh, oh. Oh, oh, oh, oh. Somebody told me once, what makes a home is heart. And heart is gained by love obtained from those who fill the part. Love between two people and a little family Always trumps the fear that comes from sheer uncertainty. Oh, oh, oh, oh. Oh, oh, oh, oh. Immediately, you open it up, it makes me uncomfortable. My soul is far less from the skies when I'm not vulnerable. But honey, after all this time, I swear that I'm in love, 'Cause all my feels and thoughts were freed when you fell from above. Oh, oh, oh, oh. Oh, oh. oh, oh. Well, once I held success and fame in such a high regard. I'm now completely satisfied with you here in my arms. Well, life is worth a whole lot more whenever I'm with you. Although we've had our ups and downs, eternity's in view. Here we go! Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
Well, once I held success and fame in such a high regard. I'm now completely satisfied with you here in my arms. Well, life is worth a whole lot more whenever I'm with you. Although we've had our ups and downs, eternity's in view. Welcome back to Mormon Channel Studio. I'm your host, Monica Moore Smith. And you guys were just treated to an original by the band Happy Medium, entitled "Home and Heart." I have to tell you guys, this is amazing. You guys are so good. Stop, Monica. Stop it. Oh no, I'm not going to stop. I'm blushing. Now tell me, you guys. This is an original, right? So how did this come about? Is this, like, a team effort to create the song? Personal experience, maybe? A friend of mine was getting married. And so on the way to the wedding, I was writing the fourth verse. [LAUGHTER] And then we just kind of inserted it into the band. And now it's a staple. Is that how you usually come up with songs, is through other people? It's usually on the way to weddings. [LAUGHTER] We're mainly a wedding band. Mainly a wedding band? Haven't played a wedding yet, but mainly a wedding band. So, get some inspiration, go to a wedding. Now, you guys told me you have another song you're going to sing for me, is that right? Yes. Yes. What's this one called? It's a little ditty called "I Need Thee Every Hour." "I Need Thee." Now, what inspired this song? Why did you pick this one out of all the hymns? We picked another hymn that was too hard. And then we were like, "Let's do another one." Let's do an easier one, right? OK. Super simple. Super great. Easy. Well, you guys will make it amazing. I'm sure you will. Good luck. Take it away.
[MUSIC - "I NEED THEE EVERY HOUR"] [SINGING] I need thee every hour, Most gracious Lord. No tender voice like thine Can peace afford.
I need thee, oh, I need thee; Every hour I need thee! Oh, bless me now, my Savior; I come to thee!
I need thee every hour, In joy or pain. Come quickly and abide, Or life is vain. I need thee, oh, I need thee; Every hour I need thee! Oh, bless me now, my Savior; Oh, I come to thee!
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
Bless me now, my Savior; I come to thee!
