Imagine brushing
your teeth with this. Not only is it nasty,
it's also very dangerous. More than 800,000 children
under the age of five die every year because of
waterborne diseases, all because they don't have access
to safe, drinkable water and proper sanitation. That means things like
cooking, drinking, and brushing your teeth
all become very dangerous. But what do you do? You must have water to
survive, but if you drink it, you could die. In 2016, LDS Charities,
the humanitarian arm of The Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day Saints, helped 380,000 people
around the world gain access to safe water. That's enough people to fill
the Colosseum four times. We believe everyone
deserves to have safe water, and that's why,
in 2016, we helped 19 different countries,
such as Armenia, Honduras, and the Philippines, find
local solutions to their water crisis. Through our partnerships
with local communities, in 2016, 46,670
people in Nigeria now have access to permanent
and reliable water and resources to maintain it for
generations to come. Thanks to your support,
millions of people can brush their teeth with this. Help us continue to change
the world one drop at a time. Visit ldscharities.org.
