To play a character like Mary is quite a scary prospect, although in the scriptures, she's someone that actually we don't know that much about.

We felt as though we had walked the miles through the desert, through the town. I think the most touching part of the Nativity is the Nativity itself. In the stable, at the birth of Christ and when the shepherds come and visit her, is this beautiful moment, which I hope the film captures, where they come to worship Christ. And it's really moving. It was so amazing to be in that scene, a scene that you read about in the scriptures and have read about for years. To actually play my part in that is really incredible. First of all, I was very fortunate that I had the opportunity to be in that movie. And when I auditioned, I was very happy. I didn't know what it was going to be. And then I found out later that I was going to be one of the three Wise Men. I was very happy. There's not a whole lot written about them, but there is enough. And so what I did was research by just reading that section of scripture again and thought, "OK, from this point, what does it mean for me as an actor?" And it was more like, "OK, I'm imagining myself in that situation, and who were these people? What were they doing?" I just know, as a person, that I have a great responsibility to let people know that we have a loving Father in Heaven and His Son, Jesus Christ, who died for us. That's what I really want my family, my children, to know--to teach them--that I know that these things are true, that we can go back and live with our Heavenly Father. Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

Like the Wise Men, I'm not a perfect person. But I know the end result of this journey is worth the difficulty of the travel. And so really, that's my testimony of the Church--that it is worth every effort to be a part of it, to stay in it, to endure to the end, and to present the gift of your life to the Lord. Christmas should not be only about giving gifts, which is nice, because the three Wise Men gave the best they could give to Jesus and the family.

But it's also about love. We're supposed to give love and the best that we can to our other brothers and sisters.

I learned that there's way more love to go around this world than I had imagined.

I learned the greatest gift showed up and never left. And that, of course, is the Savior.

I really believe in Christ, and I believe that through His example, we can try and live a really good life. And I believe that we have a God in heaven, a Heavenly Father, and that Jesus Christ is His Son, and He came to earth through really humble beginnings, but to set us a perfect example that we can strive to live by. And there's no better story than that.
