<![CDATA[ ]]> <![CDATA[Sierra Leone is a small country in the]]> <![CDATA[western part of Africa. ]]> <![CDATA[It has a population of 7 million people.]]> <![CDATA[But we had a longstanding war which really had a devastating]]> <![CDATA[effect on the country. ]]> <![CDATA[But now we are peaceful, so the government is encouraging]]> <![CDATA[the people to go back to their villages to settle.]]> <![CDATA[In many villages, people don't have much to eat.]]> <![CDATA[Very few people have water in their homes.]]> <![CDATA[We all are used to the custom of going to fetch water from]]> <![CDATA[either the pond, or rivers, or streams.]]> <![CDATA[People go down, they used to go there and get water.]]> <![CDATA[Water was very precious. ]]> <![CDATA[We have to walk about two miles off, and come back here.]]> <![CDATA[Six months ago, a woman died here.]]> <![CDATA[She got cholera, and she eventually die.]]> <![CDATA[When people use dirty water they are always affected by]]> <![CDATA[cholera, malaria, diarrhea, and it even goes to typhoid.]]> <![CDATA[Dirty water means unhappiness, because there]]> <![CDATA[would be many sickness. ]]> <![CDATA[Clean water means happiness. ]]> <![CDATA[People will feel lively, even the children will grow well.]]> <![CDATA[ ]]> <![CDATA[Cool, clean water, like the one that Latter-day Saint]]> <![CDATA[Charities is providing for the villages, has brought a]]> <![CDATA[remarkable changes in their lives in terms of health.]]> <![CDATA[I [INAUDIBLE] ]]> <![CDATA[has given a little bit of scope to improving the idea of]]> <![CDATA[the community. ]]> <![CDATA[And we must try to see that we do everything possible to]]> <![CDATA[maintain good water. ]]> <![CDATA[You have come to save us. ]]> <![CDATA[Somebody who brought clean water to our village, we take]]> <![CDATA[that person as a savior, because you]]> <![CDATA[are saving many lives. ]]> <![CDATA[ ]]> <![CDATA[If I could speak for the people of Sierra Leone, I]]> <![CDATA[would say a big thank you to the Church of Jesus Christ of]]> <![CDATA[Latter-day Saints for blessing our lives.]]> <![CDATA[For coming to our aid at the most needed time.]]> <![CDATA[For saving lives, for saving children who would have died,]]> <![CDATA[and for creating jobs for our brothers and sisters who are]]> <![CDATA[employed in this water project.]]> <![CDATA[ ]]> <![CDATA[For those who make it possible for us to get water, we love]]> <![CDATA[such people, we pray for them. ]]> <![CDATA[ ]]>
