When I was investigating the Church it started becoming very clear to me that if you abide by the precepts of the gospel, that your life will take a very clear step away from those things which might be problematic in the world. I've seen the whole sort of disintegration of society and how that's been very much a thing. And as I went to church and I saw how pro-family the Church was and how lovely it was to spend time with a gospel-oriented family and having those sort of wonderful Sunday afternoons where you'd all be together and just having a real traditional-- what I'd call "old-fashioned"-- but just lovely, lovely time that you can spend together, that I realized that the breakdown of family really was leading to the breakdown of society. And it was those things in the world, those problems. And I just saw that if you were a member of the Church and if you abided by the principles, that those problems-- although you will have problems, like anyone else-- those problems are less likely to exist in your lives.
