Service comes in many forms. Sometimes, the smallest acts of service can make a big difference in the lives of those around us.

There is a sure way to know truth. “By the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.” If we plant the seed of truth in our hearts, it will grow.

When we go through difficult times in our lives, we sometimes feel worn out, or even ruined. We may feel forgotten, or like no one could love or appreciate us again. But like this old piano, our worth has not diminished. Only our ability to see it has changed.

There’s no need to compare ourselves against others. We are only measured against ourselves. What is our potential? Where did we start? How can we grow?

Through the help of Jesus Christ, Heather became willing to accept treatment for her depression and learned to live a more joyful life.

Listening is one of the key points to following direction given by that Spirit. Often, it is easy to close our ears and turn our focus to other things which are more distracting, or which may seem more important, rather than looking to heaven and listening for directions. However, we must become more attuned to the Spirit, so that we can act on its guidance the first time we receive promptings.

The gospel of Jesus Christ is centered on relationships. But our relationship with our Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ are the most important relationship we can cultivate.

Those of us who are religious sometimes get stressed about what we are supposed to be doing with our lives. We know God has a plan for us, and we sometimes worry that we are messing it up. What really matters, though, has more to do with how we live our lives as disciples of Christ.

Addictions can have lasting effects on our relationships, but there is hope, healing, and peace through the atonement of Jesus Christ. If you or a loved one is struggling with an addiction, you can visit addictionrecovery.lds.org.

Sometimes, we feel like we don’t get answers to our prayers. But often, this can be because we’re not asking for the right things. When we seek for what Heavenly Father wants for us, instead of what we want for ourselves, we will have more powerful prayers.

As we grow up and grow older, we become more aware of others around us. Our understanding and perspective grow and change.

We need to be aware of the needs and wants and desires of people around us, but still live our lives according to the light of Christ, no matter what everyone else does.

Those around us have the same divine heritage that we have. We are all children of God. Let's remember to treat each other with love and kindness.

Death and other endings are painful, and seem almost foreign to us. This is because we are eternal beings. Eternity is not made of endings, but of everlasting beginnings.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced earlier this year that they’ll be compiling a new hymnbook and a new children’s hymnbook. President Russell M. Nelson taught, “Worthy music is powerful. It has the power to make us humble, prayerful, and grateful. Prophets through all generations have taught the importance of worthy music in our expressions of worship."

Over the summer, lightning caused several dangerous wildfires in southern Utah County. The community rose up to help in large numbers, and it was wonderful to see what helpers can do.

It doesn’t make sense for anyone to be on cloud nine all the time. If you don’t experience highs and lows, you must be superhuman! Remember that the lows in life help us to enjoy the good times.

We sometimes feel on the spot when presented with a grieving friend or family member. We don’t know what to say, and we might even want to get the conversation back to general pleasantries as fast as we can. But when life gets hard, we need each other the most.

Reading about the Nephite pride cycle in The Book of Mormon, it always felt to me like changes happened so quickly. In the space of only a few years, the Nephites would go from being a really righteous people to being thoroughly wicked. And you always wonder, “How could they change so quickly?”

It can try our faith when promised blessings seem to go unfulfilled. But we must remember that everything is done in the Lord’s way, and in the Lord’s timing.

We sometimes have a tendency to consider commandments as restrictions, but that is not the case. Commandments are a way for us to know what Heavenly Father expects of us. They have been given to guide us back home.

Let’s have more compassion. More charity. More love. Especially for those close to us. Let's assume the good, and doubt the bad.

Because of the great atonement of Jesus Christ, we are never truly alone. Let us remember his sacrifice, and turn to him.
