Elder Matthew J. Eyring was sustained as a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the April 2026 general conference.
Elder Eyring has served in a number of Church callings, including full-time missionary in the Chile Santiago South Mission, bishop, stake presidency counselor, mission presidency counselor, and Area Seventy.
Elder Eyring earned a bachelor of arts degree in economics from the University of Utah in 1992 and a master of business administration degree from Harvard Business School in 1998. He worked as a consultant for the Monitor Company, as a product manager for Medtronic, as a managing partner of Innosight, LLC, and as chief strategy and innovation officer of Vivint. He has worked as vice president of career development for BYU-Pathway since 2021.
Matthew Johnson Eyring was born in Palo Alto, California, on July 19, 1969. He married Amy Rebecca Froerer in 1995. They are the parents of five children.
