The Family Living Center is an additional Pioneer Life experience. This large demonstration building showcases eight different arts and crafts from the early days of Nauvoo. From making bread to dipping candles, throwing pottery to winding rope, shaping barrels to weaving cloth, there is plenty to see and do for both children and adults.
What to Expect
The Family Living Center is a self-directed experience. Missionaries will offer demonstrations at the stations, some of which offer activities for visitors to participate in. After visiting the Family Living Center, you are free to explore the rest of Nauvoo. You might be interested in other Pioneer Life experiences such as the guided tour beginning at the Cultural Hall, Sessions Home, Pastimes Pavilion, or wagon ride.
