Juan Pablo Villar

Elder Juan Pablo Villar was sustained as a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on March 31, 2018. At that time, he was serving as a member of the Seventh Quorum of the Seventy in the South America South Area. His past roles include president of the Spain Barcelona Mission, Second Counselor in the South America South Area Presidency, and Assistant Executive Director of the Missionary and Temple Departments. Currently, he serves in the South America Northwest Area Presidency.

Elder Villar has served in a number of Church callings, including full-time missionary in the Chile Viña del Mar Mission, stake president, high councilor, bishop, counselor in a bishopric, ward executive secretary, stake and ward Young Men president.

Elder Villar earned a bachelor’s degree in communications in 1994, followed by a master’s degree in marketing in 2002. He later completed an MBA at Brigham Young University in 2007. His professional experience includes roles in sales, marketing, and management within the pharmaceutical, medical device, and mining industries.

Juan Pablo Villar Saavedra was born in Valparaiso, Chile, on September 11, 1969. He married Carola Cristina Barrios Lopez in 1994. They are the parents of three children.
