John D. Amos

Elder John D. Amos was sustained as a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the April 2025 general conference. At the time of his call, he had been serving as a member of the Tenth Quorum of the Seventy in the North America Southeast Area.

Elder Amos has served in a number of Church callings, including bishop, counselor in a stake presidency, mission president, and Area Seventy.

Elder Amos graduated with engineering degrees from Southern University in Baton Rouge and the University of Central Florida in Orlando. He is now retired from the United States Navy Reserve and Siemens Energy Inc.

John Davis Amos was born in Lafayette, Louisiana, on November 2, 1961. He married Michelle Evette Wright in 1990. They are the parents of three children.
