Elder James O. Fantone was sustained as a General Authority Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the April 2026 general conference. At the time of his call, he had been serving as a member of the Eight Quorum of the Seventy in the Philippines Area.
Elder Fantone has served in a number of Church callings, including full-time missionary in the Philippines Cagayan de Oro Mission, bishop, high councilor, mission president, and Area Seventy.
Elder Fantone earned a bachelor of science degree in management from Rizal Technological University in 1997 and studied guidance counseling at the University of the Philippines. He worked as a sales manager for World Executives Digest from 1996 to 1997 and as a sales and country manager for Morinda International from 1997 to 2000. From 2001 to 2004 he worked for the Church as an institute director for Seminaries and Institutes of Religion and from 2004 to 2022 he worked as a country director for the Academy for Creating Enterprise.
James Gilwell Osorio Fantone was born in Manila, Philippines, on February 11, 1972. He married Cynthia Caseres Uy in 1994. They are the parents of four children.
