President Henry B. Eyring was set apart First Counselor in the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on October 14, 2025. He had previously served as Second Counselor in the First Presidency to President Russell M. Nelson, as First Counselor in the First Presidency to President Thomas S. Monson, and as Second Counselor in the First Presidency to President Gordon B. Hinckley.

Prior to his service in the First Presidency, President Eyring served as a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, a member of the Seventy, First Counselor in the Presiding Bishopric, Commissioner of the Church Educational System, a member of the Sunday School general board, a regional representative, and a bishop.

Professionally, President Eyring was president of Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. He was also on the faculty at the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University. He holds a bachelor of science degree in physics from the University of Utah and both a master and a doctor of business administration degree from Harvard University.

President Eyring was born in Princeton, New Jersey, on May 31, 1933. In 1962, President Eyring married the late Kathleen Johnson, who finished her mortal journey on October 15, 2023. They are the parents of four sons and two daughters.
