Since the 1970s, Latter-day Saints have lived and worshiped in Bahrain. The Manama Bahrain Stake has been organized to accommodate members from outside the country who currently reside in Bahrain. In May 2024, Elder Anthony D. Perkins, president of the Middle East/Africa North Area of the Church, and his wife, Christine Dee Abbott Perkins, met with His Excellency Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting focused on possibilities for future interfaith collaboration and initiatives in the Kingdom of Bahrain, a Muslim majority country where religious tolerance and appreciation are prioritized.
