Vita privata

David A. Bednar è nato il 15 giugno 1952 a Oakland, in California. Ha svolto una missione a tempo pieno nella Germania meridionale e ha successivamente frequentato la Brigham Young University, dove ha conseguito un bachelor’s degree e un master. Ha anche conseguito un dottorato in Organizational behavior presso la Purdue University.

David A. Bednar ha sposato Susan Kae Robinson nel Tempio di Salt Lake il 20 marzo 1975. Hanno tre figli.

Prima della sua chiamata nel Quorum dei Dodici, l’anziano Bednar è stato Settanta di area, Settanta Autorità di area, rappresentante regionale, presidente di palo per due volte e vescovo.

Vita professionale

Dopo aver completato gli studi, l’anziano Bednar ha insegnato Business management presso la Texas Tech University e la University of Arkansas. È stato quindi presidente della Brigham Young University–Idaho (prima denominata Ricks College) dal 1997 al 2004.
