Allen D. Haynie was born in Logan, Utah, on August 29, 1958. He married Deborah Ruth Hall in December 1983. They are the parents of six children.
He received a bachelor’s degree in political science in 1982 and a juris doctor in 1985, both from Brigham Young University.
Elder Haynie has served in a number of Church callings, including full-time missionary in the Argentina Córdoba Mission, elders quorum president, Young Men president, seminary teacher, high councilor, bishop, and stake president.
At the time of his call, Elder Allen D. Haynie had been serving as a member of the Fifth Quorum of the Seventy in the North America West Area. He previously served as a member of the Philippines Area Presidency and North America Northeast Area Presidency and is currently serving as First Counselor in the South America South Area Presidency.
He practiced law for 25 years with the international law firm Latham and Watkins. He subsequently opened his own law firm, Haynie Law Group.
