You can be armed with power!

Here’s the latest weekly message from Church leaders to you.

Have you ever had that gut-wrenching feeling when you show up to a class and there’s a pop quiz you’re not prepared for?

It’s the worst.

You feel panicked. Worried. All out of sorts.

The lack of preparation can be terrifying.

On the flip side, being armed with the knowledge for a test can give you great confidence and peace.

That preparation is so important. It becomes our armor.

This same idea applies so well to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Developing a lasting relationship with Jesus Christ prepares us and arms us with the power to get through hard times.

Elder David A. Bednar of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles said our covenant connection with Jesus Christ gives us greater “perspective, hope, power, peace, and enduring joy” (general conference, Apr. 2023).

He also said that we can strengthen that connection “as we are firm and steadfast in our devotion to the Redeemer and His holy purposes, in times both good and bad.”

What does that devotion look like in your life?

Some examples:

Prayer
Feasting on the words of Christ
Partaking of the sacrament
Serving God and others
Keeping His commandments

It is the consistency of these habits that draws us closer to the Lord and arms us with righteousness and the power of God.

As you study the lesson this week, consider the promise in 1 Nephi 14:14. How has the Savior fulfilled this promise in your life?
