His commandment is for both ancient and modern times!
Sometimes people are reluctant to help those in need. Have you ever heard something like, “I earned my money! Why do they deserve my help?” or “I don’t have enough to share. Rich people can make more of a difference.”
King Benjamin explained that both of these attitudes are off the mark. As he taught, it is our opportunity and responsibility to help other people. After all, when we help each other, we are helping God! (See Mosiah 2:17.)
