Our kindness can make a difference in the world.

You’ve probably heard the saying “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.”

Well, spoiler alert: this isn’t actually true! Words can be hurtful, especially when they encourage people to take unkind actions. Scriptures remind us that we need to watch our thoughts, words, and deeds—trying to align all three with the Savior.1

With the Lord’s grace, we are powerful enough to be the good guys—to take the higher road and to act with compassion even when contention swirls around us. You’ve got this!

Do you use mostly kind words? When are you most tempted to use angry or mean words? What can you do to stay calm in those situations?
