Ready for some truth?

It’s what the prophet really wants you to know!

President Russell M. Nelson spoke at a devotional for young adults recently. And yeah, we know—you may not be a young adult yet. But a lot of what he said applies to everyone!

Specifically, he told us three ways we can prepare for eternity:

1. Know the truth about who you are.

President Nelson reminded us that while there are plenty of labels that can make up your identity, none are more important than your identity as a child of God! (Look for more about this idea in an upcoming post.)

2. Know the truth about what Heavenly Father and His Son have offered you.

What have Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ offered you? Here are a few ideas to get your list started:

  • Healing
  • Hope
  • The chance to learn about the gospel
  • Peace
  • Eternal life (that’s kind of a big one!)

Take time to write down and ponder each idea on your list. Why are these important to you?

3. Know the truth related to your conversion.

“I plead with you to take charge of your testimony,” President Nelson said. “Work for it. Own it. Care for it. Nurture it so that it will grow. Feed it truth.” Think about it: the prophet is pleading with us to do something! Seems like something we should pay attention to. So … what can you do to strengthen your testimony today?

If you want even more prophetic goodness, read or watch the whole devotional here. Spoiler alert: Sister Wendy Nelson also shared some great thoughts!

Pick a Truth, Any Truth

Which of these truths do you want to know better? Make a goal to work on it! Make sure to involve God by praying for help.
