We always hear that we should read the scriptures, and we should! But do we realize that we should be writing about what we are reading?
The Lord has said, “I command all men … that they shall write the words which I speak unto them” (2 Nephi 29:11).
As you read the scriptures, try writing about what you are learning and the impressions of the Spirit that you are receiving. Same thing with prayer. We say prayers, but do we ever write down what we are feeling afterward?
President Russell M. Nelson said, “Pray … and then listen! Write the thoughts that come to your mind. Record your feelings.”1
I’ve been doing that, and it has really helped me. I think it can help you too!
Elder Richard G. Scott taught, “Inspiration carefully recorded shows God that His communications are sacred to us. Recording will also enhance our ability to recall revelation.”2
