But the Savior understands them all!

The Savior showed healing in a variety of ways. For example:

  • He healed one deaf and voiceless man by putting His fingers in the man’s ears and touching his tongue (see Mark 7:32–35).
  • He healed some people without even being in the same room as them (see Mark 7:25–30).
  • He healed some people immediately, but He took a little longer to fully restore one blind man’s eyesight (see Mark 8:22–25).
  • This week we will read about Jesus healing a child His disciples had been unable to heal. They asked why they hadn’t been able to do it. Jesus said they needed to exercise more faith, in addition to prayer and fasting (see Matthew 17:20–21).

What’s something we notice in all of these stories? Not every problem has the same solution. Even the same problem might have different solutions depending on the circumstances. The way God helps you overcome a trial might not be the same way He helps someone else overcome the same trial.

The good news is that you can always start with prayer and fasting, which can produce miracles. If we seek His help, God will give us personalized direction based on our own strengths, weaknesses, and faithfulness, as well as other factors. He knows everything! Trust Him to guide you the way you need to be guided.
