Drumroll, please …

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths” (Proverbs 3:5–6).

What does it mean to trust in the Lord? Let’s take a closer look at this verse.

  1. “With all thine heart.” We can choose to trust the Lord with all of our heart, not just part of it. That means believing Him even when things get hard or answers don’t seem to come right away.
  2. “Lean not unto thine own understanding.” Ask God, not just Google! The Lord knows us, loves us, and wants what’s best for us. What would happen if we put as much effort into prayer as we did looking up stuff online?
  3. “In all thy ways acknowledge him.” How often do we think of the Lord each day? How often do we thank Him for our blessings? We are blessed when we do.

We can’t wait to practice trusting the Lord with you more next year! Until then, let’s keep doing “a great work” (Doctrine and Covenants 64:33) and finish 2021 strong.

What Trust Means

Think about next year’s theme scripture. What does “trust in the Lord” mean to you?
