Youth in Malaysia: Young Man Studying
Gospel Living

New country, new culture … no problem!

Ark has learned some amazing life lessons in Malaysia.

Ark moved with his family from the Philippines to Malaysia. It was hard for the 14-year-old at first, but he soon learned to love the different cultures and people around him. The greatest lesson he learned, though, came one day while reading in the Book of Mormon.

“O, remember, my son, and learn wisdom in thy youth; yea, learn in thy youth to keep the commandments of God” (Alma 37:35).

When Ark read this, he realized that learning didn’t happen only at school. He could also learn wisdom from his family—more specifically, his parents!

Today, Ark has had amazing experiences falling in love with spicy food and learning from his parents while playing the board game Monopoly. You can read more about him here in this month’s For the Strength of Youth magazine!
