Everything God created can teach us about Him!

Scripture of the Day: “Behold, my soul delighteth in proving unto my people the truth of the coming of Christ; for, for this end hath the law of Moses been given; and all things which have been given of God from the beginning of the world, unto man, are the typifying of him.” (2 Nephi 11:4)

When we talk about the law of Moses, we usually mention that its purpose was to point people to Christ. The Lord didn’t need the Israelites’ animal sacrifices. Instead, He needed them to remember the symbolism of those sacrifices and look forward to the Savior’s ultimate atoning sacrifice.

In this verse, Nephi takes it a step further. He says that not only was the law of Moses meant to prove “the truth of the coming of Christ,” but indeed ALL things that God has given us are to remind us of that.

Elder Neal A. Maxwell, who was an apostle, once said, “Whether in the structure of the atom or of the galaxies, or in the truths about temples and families, for those who have eyes to see, all things ... are designed to point us to Christ, typifying Him, so that we might follow Him, have faith in Him, and keep His commandments.”1

How can you find the Savior in “all things which have been given of God,” like Nephi wrote about?

What is something in nature that reminds you of Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, or the Holy Ghost?
