What do you think your first job will be? Maybe you’re already working! Some of the jobs Elder Ronald A. Rasband had as a teenager included mowing lawns, picking up golf balls, and working at a grocery store. Here are some other fun facts about him.
Elder Rasband:
- Led his Boy Scout troop on a mile-long swim across a lake.
- Was really into cars in high school and owned four of them before his mission.
- Served as a missionary in the Eastern States Mission (which included the Bermuda islands!) and later as a mission president in New York, USA.
- Put a pause on his college education to accept a once-in-a-lifetime job offer. Years later, Utah Valley University awarded him an honorary doctorate of business and commerce.
- Married Melanie Twitchell in 1973 in the Salt Lake Temple. They have five children.
- Was called to the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles in October 2015.
