Elder Jeffrey R. Holland loved playing sports when he was your age. He was on his high school’s state championship basketball and football teams, and he was even voted “Outstanding Athlete”! Here are some other fun facts about him.
Elder Holland:
- Worked as a service station attendant, paperboy, and grocery bagger in his youth.
- Served in the British Mission with Elder Quentin L. Cook—one of his mission companions—and his parents, who were called to the same mission while he was there!
- Married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Terry, in 1963 in the St. George Temple. They have three children.
- Was the ninth president of Brigham Young University.
- Was called to the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles in June 1994.
