Refugees who fled from violence in Syria to peace in Lebanon are still facing serious challenges. There are no jobs for the adults and no schools for the children. Many are going without daily necessities.
“It’s hard for a man to accept that he is not able to provide for his family, that he can’t feed them, that he can’t buy clothes for them,” one refugee father shares.
Fortunately, there are people eager to help. Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from Beirut Lebanon Branch reach out to serve using resources provided by volunteers around the globe. They help provide food, shelter, and clothing for these families.
“We serve others because this is what Christ taught us,” explains one volunteer. “Jesus Christ always helped the poor, He healed the sick—He had mercy on everyone.”
Millions of refugees live throughout the world and stand in need of a helping hand to lift them up. Find out how you can contribute at giveback.lds.org.
