    Serving Without Judging

    Episode 12

When an opportunity to serve presents itself, don’t let someone’s appearance or status stop you from helping. If you do, you could miss out on blessings that come from being charitable, and you could even pass up a future friendship.

Susan Trieshmann, an Illinois native, has worked in the restaurant industry for more than 25 years. She left her successful catering business and sacrificed other financial comforts to start Curt’s Café, a job-skills training program for at-risk youth in the Chicago area. Mormon Channel producer Charlotte Keniepp visited Curt’s Café to learn more about this amazing project.

In the last half of this episode, we talk to the Executive Director at The Road Home, a homeless shelter in downtown Salt Lake City. He shares his philosophy on serving others without passing judgment. He has worked with people from many backgrounds in hopes of helping them break free from the poverty cycle and contribute to their communities.
