5 Tips for a Happier Family Life in 2016

    January 11, 2016

Hoping your family life will be happier this year than it was in 2015? Doing these five things will make all the difference.

    1. Make time for family prayer.

President Thomas S. Monson taught, “There is no more beautiful sight in all this world than to see a family praying together. There is real meaning behind the oft-quoted ‘The family that prays together stays together.’”

    2. Work together.

Working for and with our families brings blessings of unity, order, and happiness. Not only does working together get the jobs done quicker; it also provides precious time for getting to know one another.

    3. Forgive each other.

None of us is perfect, so we can forgive our family members for also making mistakes. If we will, comfort and peace will fill our hearts and our homes.

    4. Spend time together.

Enjoying family vacations, holidays, birthday celebrations, and other activities as a family will strengthen each individual as well as the group.

    5. Express love more often.

President Dieter F. Uchtdorf said, “Love is the healing balm that repairs rifts in personal and family relationships. It is the bond that unites families, communities, and nations. … Love is the fire that warms our lives with unparalleled joy and divine hope. Love should be our walk and our talk.”
