Today is Mother’s Day in nearly 100 countries, including some of the most heavily populated ones. More than half of the people on earth live in a place that’s celebrating motherhood today!
If you can hug your mom and tell her you love her, do it. (That’s a good thing to do any day, of course.)
But if your mom has passed away or is absent for other reasons, or if you don’t have a good relationship with her, days like today can be difficult. A lot of people are in situations like that.
Fortunately, we often have other “mom” figures who help us out. What are mothers supposed to do? They protect, nurture, soothe, teach, and encourage us. You might have teachers, coaches, Church leaders, friends, or other relatives who give you that kind of love. Today’s a day to show gratitude for them, too!
