Purpose
With all of the challenges and opportunities that life gives us, sometimes it can seem daunting to decide what to do. With the Lord’s help, you can develop the skills and confidence to make decisions and solve problems.
Goal Ideas
- Study how prophets have made important decisions. What steps did they take? How can you follow their teachings when you face a difficult situation?
- Write down a problem you are facing. Then write down the information you have, your options, your feelings, and any questions you may still have. After pondering, write down your decision. Take your decision to the Lord, and write down the impressions you receive through the Holy Ghost.
- On a large piece of paper or cardboard, create a collage or vision board of things you want to accomplish in the next 2, 5, and 10 years. What decisions do you need to make—and what actions do you need to take—to reach those goals?
- Family history is a great way to learn problem-solving skills. Look at your family lines in Family Tree and try to find a place where someone might be missing—for instance, a person without a spouse or a married couple without children. Look for records that will help you find the information you need. When you find someone who is missing, add this person to Family Tree. If you need help, you can always ask your temple and family history consultant.
