The king of Egypt was worried. The Israelites, who were the slaves of his country, were growing more numerous than the Egyptians!
So he made an evil decision. He decreed that all Israelite baby boys had to be killed as soon as they were born.
The king’s plot to prevent future challengers from growing up might have worked. But the Lord had plans to save Moses’s life—and to set His people free.
