Your friends can affect who you become. Emily says, “It helps to have friends who are pushing you to do better, and I found friends like that at FSY.”
When you’re around people with similar values, you can lift each other up. Emily said that FSY “really does strengthen the youth because it brings us together. We became great friends as we all centered our focus around Christ.”
One of her favorite parts of FSY was the musical program. She loved being surrounded by other youth as they all sang praises to the Lord. She felt the truth of what she was singing, felt God’s love, and knew she was where she needed to be.
You don’t have to be friends only with members of the Church. But whatever friends you choose should respect your standards and help you be the best you can be. FSY is just one way to find friends like that!
