Goal: Developing Christlike Attributes

How can you become more like the Savior? One way is to focus on developing Christlike attributes. Learn about Him and practice living the way He lived. Be patient with yourself in this process—it is a lifelong pursuit.

• Prayerfully study passages of scripture about the attributes of Jesus Christ. You could also watch the video “Christlike Attributes.” Keep a journal of what you are learning about the details of His life, such as how He lived, challenges He faced, and the way He interacted with others.
• Take this quiz to identify Christlike attributes you would like to work on.
• Choose one attribute of the Savior and practice it with your friends and family. As guided by the Holy Ghost, repeat this process with other attributes.
• Elder David A. Bednar taught that “the enabling power of the Atonement strengthens us to do and be good and to serve beyond our own individual desire and natural capacity” (“The Atonement and the Journey of Mortality,” Ensign, Apr. 2012, 42–43). Study the scriptures and general conference talks to learn how the Atonement of Jesus Christ can help you develop Christlike attributes.
• Look for examples of Christlike attributes in people all around you. Take a photo or write down something to remind you of how someone demonstrated a Christlike attribute.
