Christ taught that we must be born again.

But what does that mean?

Have you ever heard someone describe themselves as a “born-again Christian”? Usually this means that the person has had a moment of intense conversion when they decided to follow Jesus Christ. Some Protestant groups, for example, especially value this experience and identify with that term.

The phrase comes from the Bible, when the Savior taught a man named Nicodemus that we must be “born again ... of water and the spirit” in order to enter the kingdom of heaven (John 3: 3–5). That conversation is what the video above is about. If you’ve been baptized and confirmed by someone with priesthood authority, you’ve followed the Savior’s teachings.

As we receive the influence of the Holy Ghost into our lives, we can enjoy an ongoing spiritual rebirth through the Savior any time. As we repent daily and turn our heart to Him, we can gain a fresh view about God, about ourselves, and about the world. Embrace the rebirth!

Feelings of Rebirth

Have you ever experienced a feeling of spiritual rebirth, like the “fresh view” described in this post? This would be great to write about in your journal!
