These quotes are from the October 2022 general conference. Notice anything they have in common?
- Elder Neil L. Andersen: “It is a wondrous journey to be wheat among the tares, sometimes fraught with heartache but always calmed by the maturing and assuring settling of our faith.”1
- Sister Michelle D. Craig: “I am inspired by the wholehearted, whole-souled discipleship of the widow who threw her two mites into the temple treasury. She gave her all. Jesus Christ … doesn’t see our lack as failure but rather as an opportunity to exercise faith and to grow.”2
- Elder James W. McConkie III: “[A] story focuses on a man ‘sick of the palsy’ and his four friends. … In order to bring their friend to Christ, each of the four must carry their corner. ... Each of us has a role to play in the kingdom of God. As we fill that role and do our part, we carry our corner.”3
All these quotes reference stories in the New Testament, which is what we’re studying in Come, Follow Me in 2023! The New Testament is filled with stories from Christ’s life and parables that He told.
