Imagine if you weren’t allowed to talk about what you believe. Would people still be able to figure out what you value by watching how you behave?
In some countries, this is how missionary work gets done! There are places where members aren’t allowed to talk about gospel doctrine, so they try to share their testimony through their daily actions instead.
President James E. Faust once shared a story about when BYU’s Jerusalem Center was built in Israel. He assured local leaders that the students wouldn’t proselyte, as they had agreed. One of them commented, “Oh, we know that you are not going to proselyte, but what are you going to do about the light that is in their eyes?”1
Like Elder Stevenson said, a true testimony is so much more than words!
