Looking for a fun idea for family home evening or a youth activity? Monday is Pioneer Day, and you could do something this week to celebrate! For example:
- Cook a pioneer meal.
- Go on a hike or do a hard thing, like the pioneers did.
- Play Charades or Pictionary with pioneer-related words.
- Look at names and pictures of pioneers.*
- Dress up and act out a pioneer story.
- Play “Name That Tune” with Church songs about pioneers.
We celebrate Pioneer Day to remember those who sacrificed to build a better life for us. The pioneers you honor could be people from your family’s history, early Church members, or modern pioneers around the world.

*Any family member who did something for the first time is a pioneer. Maybe they were the first to move to a new country, learn a new language, join the Church, or graduate from school. Maybe you are a pioneer!
